Disadvantages
Customer Accessibility - Although crypto wallets are growing by the day, the blockchain is far from matching the ease of access of debit/credit cards currently. Over time, this will improve and get better, but it is currently one of the disadvantages of accepting decentralized payments.
CRM Limitations - While Stripe and PayPal are integrated with the likes of Shopify, WooCommerce, and almost every other CRM in the world, we will need to approach our gateway integrations in a boutique manner, as there is currently no advantage for Shopify to accept our gateway as an app. We understand this, but we are also ingrained enough within the performance marketing space that we will be able to secure some very strong CRM integrations as we grow.
Token Integrations - Our main objective is to be able to accept ALL tokens on Base that have a liquidity pair. Each integration will need a new set of contracts deployed to accommodate it. While this is not a huge disadvantage, it will be a bit of a time constraint in the early stages. Our goal is to work with projects in tandem to get their integrations done.
Accounting - While there are currently hundreds of accounting apps to sync your commerce with your books, there is not anything available for that when it comes to blockchain commerce. While the blockchain is a ledger, that doesn't necessarily make the accounting easier.
Consumer Trust - Consumers have been conditioned to trust using their credit/debit cards online for payments. This took some time and did not happen overnight. Crypto coins will be no different, and trust will have to be established with consumers to scale adoption.
Impermanent Loss -If you are accepting coins as a form of payment, the price fluctuation can greatly impact your profitability. This is something to take into consideration when using our gateway.
